It is amazing to me how many "roofers" do not know basic installation rules even on the easiest roofing jobs.
Even more amazing is that people hire them.
Manufactures specifications and building codes are there for a reason and these are MINIMUM requirements.
A good roofing contractor will surpass these rather than undercut them.
For example with shingle and tile roofing the MINIMUM required slope is 2.5/12. At Ron Williams Certified Roof we are certified roofing installers we will not install shingles on less than 3.5/12 or tile 4/12 because if we do, there is a good probability that the homeowner will have leaking issues later.
